Well, now that the iPhone 4S is on the market it’s time for the iPhone 5 rumors to start up once again. According to the folks over at BGR, Apple is gearing up to launch a completely redesigned, brand new iPhone come Fall 2012. Now, we have virtually no way to confirm this but seeing how Apple typically comes forth about once a year with a new iPhone we would say there’s a pretty good chance this will happen.

No one knows what could have triggered the incident but looking at the marks on the back of the phone, it was likely caused due to a faulty battery.

Fortunately, other than creating a bit of panic no one was harmed due to the occurrence of this incident. Whether it was caused due to the phone being on-board a flight is yet to be determined.

The steps are simple enough to follow but continue on your own risk. You have enable the Wi-Fi, disable the Location services, then turn Airplane mode while on your active AT&T network. Remove the SIM card and get ready to enter your T-Mobile chip.

Well, for those who are really busy bees and yet want to carry just one phone around simply because you feel that your bespoked pair of pants would look undignified with a couple of handsets in one of the pockets, here is a potential solution – the Vooma Peel PG920. This unique accessory will be able to add a secondary SIM slot to your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, never mind the fact that this is actually a battery case primarily. Needless to say, if you were to use two SIM cards with your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, you will first need to jailbreak the device prior to installing its custom software.

Prices aren’t that bad either, starting at $649 for the 16GB version. A 32GB iPhone 4S will cost $749, while the 64GB will sell for $849. Before you head up to the Apple store though check what Apple has to say about it.

The unlocked iPhone works only on supported GSM networks, such as AT&T in the U.S. When you travel internationally, you can also use a micro-SIM card from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

In related locksmith news, Sprint started SIM-locking all iPhone 4S handsets purchased from today, November 11 onwards. All devices bought and activated before today’s date will remain unlocked, but how long will this last is still anyone’s guess.

Currently, the iPhone 4S is already available in USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.The iPhone 4S gang is now being expanded throughout Hong Kong, South Korea, Bulgaria, Albania, Armenia, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal and Romania. The official launch in these countries will be on November 11, while the pre-order campaign will start on November 4 (not available in Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama).

But after a few weeks of hard work, developers Steve Troughton-Smith and chpwn have finally managed to crack it. As you can see in the video above, Siri is now fully functional on a device that is not, for a change, an iPhone 4S.

But before you get all excited, this news does come with a catch. The thing is that the developers cannot release this hack to users without Apple’s legal team coming after them. It requires the manipulation of Apple’s code in order to get it working on other devices, which is a violation of the EULA. They may eventually find a way to distribute it legally but till then you will have to use your iOS device the ol’ fashioned way.

Now for a device that let down many technophiles because it looks exactly the same as the previous model that shipped more than one year ago, the iPhone 4S has really proven everyone in the media wrong. Quite a few number of journalists we follow on Twitter and Google+ have said that they’re going to skip the fifth generation iPhone, but mainstream people are most certainly not members of the technology media scene. Add up the huge number of iPhone 3GS users that have been anxiously awaiting for their 2 year contract to renew, and a bunch of people on Verizon who wanted to see the “iPhone 5? before buying one, because by the time the iPhone 4 hit Verizon it was already over half a year old, and let’s not forget Sprint customers, who have been waiting for the iPhone since the summer of 2007, and you can see how Apple so easily hit 4+ million.

A suit was filed in which Apple devices would be banned in Holland for using the 3G network technology. The court ruled against Samsung, stating that Apple could license the technology without being banned, but licensed under a fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory basis.Neither company issued comments on this ruling as of yet.
